Katie Roberts
Living in rural Vermont for most of my life has granted me the opportunity to view the natural world in the most intimate of settings, and to capture those moments forever on canvas.
I am particularly obsessed with wildlife. My degree is in wildlife biology, and as such, my artwork is accurately depicted. Every swath of vegetation, phase of hair growth and habitat feature is considered. I am a member of Artists for Conservation, and donate a percentage of my artwork sales to wildlife and habitat conservation. See artistsforconservation.org for more information on the incredible stewardship being carried out through art.
Over the past 25 years, my media preference has evolved. I started with colored pencils when I was no more than a child, then transitioned to watercolor pencils as a teen, watercolor paint as an adolescent, acrylics for most of my adulthood and oils for the last decade. Now, my primary focus is in sustainable materials - water-mixable oils, rescued slab wood, bamboo artisan paper and recycled paper, as well as eco packaging and shipping materials.
